Matt Miller is a highly educated political columnist that focuses primarily on current government issues. Miller writes with a casual and even-tempered tone. Although, when Miller begins discussing a topic he has a strong opinion on, his writing changes to show his passion behind the idea. He writes mainly toward government officials as if he can change the current rules in order to make them better. He questions the governments actions and gives a practical solution because he is a realist not an idealist. When Miller writes about current issues he draws attention from a large audience, because he used to work in the white house, so his fans value and respect his opinion. The audience is strong because he voices not just his opinion, but also that of the American people. His columns are motivating and he discusses issues that many Americans may not know about so he gives them insight to the problem as well as explaining why the topic could be positive or catastrophic for America. Miller bases his arguments off of logic and ethics. He is contantly referring to presidents, --current, past, and future-- public policy, and foreign affairs. Miller is most definetley a defender of American ideals in that he values the constitution and the peoples' rights. I enjoyed reading Matt Miller's columns because they were interesting and informationtional. I learned a lot from him about public policy and I became educated on issues that I was unaware of until I read his column.
